The former Vorsils Monastery opens its doors to Semiconfident - the second solo exhibition by abstract painter Robin Blažek, presenting a visual essay on the fragile balance between certainty and doubt.
The artist showcases fourteen paintings that serve not only as personal introspection but also as a mental map we might all recognise. Their arrangement resembles a music album setlist - a curated sequence of tracks that shape the overall mood, rhythm, and tension. Through the lens of his own sensitivity, Blažek holds a mirror up to the digital age: one saturated with flawless faces and bodies, dramatic triumphs, bold opinions, and a shimmering illusion of conconnection. Each piece explores a different facet of this theme while allowing space for pause, reflection, and the freedom to leave conclusions unresolved.
His visual language pays homage to aesthetic purity, yet remains fluid, instinctive, and open to imperfection. Blažek steps away from rigid structure, embracing randomness as a counterpoint to the ever-present pressure for performance and perfection. The paintings move between cold and warm tones, between calm and chaos, faith and fear. Where he once fused opposing forces within a single canvas, he now lets these dualities stand more distinctly apart - like two answers to the same question.
Semiconfident is not a declaration about how things are, It is an invitation to feel them, whatever they are. A quiet call for shared conversation amidst the growing noise of a world accelerating beyond grasp - whether wishing ourselves or with one another. Without judgement, without instruction. Only with the conviction that doubt, too, deserves its space.
These paintings no longer seek to tell explicit stories; their power lies in the silences between. In what they stir rather than state. The exhibition does not claim authority, instead it offers a space. A place where it's allowed to question, to not know, and to simply let things be. Which today, perhaps is more than enough.

Prostor bývalého Voršilského Kláštera se otevírá výstavě Semiconfident – druhé sólové prezentaci abstraktního malíře Robina Blažka představující obrazovou esej o křehké rovnováze mezi jistotou a pochybností.
Autor představuje čtrnáct obrazů, které vnímá nejen jako osobní introspekci, ale i myšlenkovou mapu nás všech. Jejich uspořádání připomíná setlist hudebního alba – výběr skladeb, které utvářejí náladu, rytmus a napětí celku. Blažek skrze optiku vlastní citlivosti kriticky nastavuje zrcadlo dnešní digitální době, v rámci které je prostý člověk denně konfrontován s nádhernými tvářemi a těly, zlomovými úspěchy, ostrými názory a iluzí pocitu vzájemného propojení. Každé dílo rozvíjí jiný aspekt tématu a přitom nechává prostor k zastavení, přemýšlení i odložení potřeby dojít k závěru.
Tvorba skládá hold estetické čistotě, je však uvolněná, intuitivní a otevřená chybě. Blažek upouští od přesných struktur a dává prostor nahodilosti, která působí jako protipól k tlaku na výkon a dokonalost. Obrazy balancují mezi chladnými a teplými tóny, mezi klidem a chaosem, důvěrou a strachem. Tam, kde dříve propojoval protiklady v rámci jednoho obrazu, nyní nechává bipolarity existovat ve výraznějších podobách samostatně – jako dvě odpovědi na jednu otázku.
Semiconfident není výpovědí o tom, jak věci jsou. Je pozvánkou k tomu, jak je lze cítit. Je to tiché vyzvání ke společné diskuzi v konstantně zrychlujícím se světě – ať už v sobě, nebo mezi sebou. Bez hodnocení, bez návodu. Jen s důvěrou, že i pochybnosti mají své místo.
Obrazy již nejsou výslovnými nositeli příběhů, jejich schopnost nyní leží ve vybízení ke vzájemnému či vnitřnímu dialogu. Výstava tak ve své podstatě nezaujímá jednoznačný postoj, raději ale vytváří prostor. Místo, kde je dovoleno pochybovat, nevědět a nechat věci být. Což dnes může znamenat více, než se zdá.
